[ga][gi][gu][ge][go] can be pronounced in two ways. When they appear at the beginning of words, they are pronounced with a hard [g] sound like the English [g] in "garden". Otherwise, pronounce with a nasal sound like the [ng] in "singer" or "king". |

| See if you can hear the difference of the pronunciations of each combination. |

[galasu] & [kagami]
The sound difference does not effect the meaning of words and not all Japanese people use both pronunciations. So don't worry if you cannot hear the difference. |
