８．CONJUNCTIONS　

Unlike English,「と」which means "and" cannot connect sentences. In this program, only one CONJUNCTION is introduced in the main lesson. However, I prepared a list of basic conjunctions because you are ready to use them.

　SENTENCE。それから SENTENCE。　　　　and [L4-1]

e.g.コーヒーを　ください。それから　ケーキも　ください。
ぎんこうに　いきました。それから　えいがかんに　いきました。

To connect VERB and ADJECTIVE sentences, 「そして」can also be used.

SENTENCE。そしてSENTENCE。　　　　and

e.g.このケーキは　おいしいです。そして　きれいです。
ハワイに　いきました。そして　テニスを　しました。
When used to connect VERB sentences, 「そして」can be interpreted "and" or "and there". 「それから」can be interpreted as "and" or "and then".

　　SENTENCE。でも [demo]　　 SENTENCE。　　　　but

e.g.アメリカに　いきました。でも　サンフランシスコには　いきませんでした。

　　SENTENCE。ですから [des(u)kala]　SENTENCE。　　　　so

e.g.すてきな　ほんを　かいました。ですから　あした　よみます。

The PARTICLE and the CONJUNCTION which are used to add the nuance of "or" are not introduced now but will be in the next program.
