UNIT 1-1 Japanese VERB Forms and Types

Japanese VERBS conjugate. In other words, Japanese VERBS change themselves to make various expressions. Each VERB has four forms.


1.「DICTIONARY FORM 」  2. 「ますFORM」  3.「ないFORM」    4.「てFORM」

Among them, you have studied the 「ますFORM」.
You will study the 「DICTIONARY FORM」 in this lesson.

VERBます/VERBたいです


These are the two VERB-related expressions you studied in this program. Please note that both expressions consist of the same VERB parts.

たbe ・ますのみ ・ます

たbe ・たいですのみ ・たいです

The parts 「たbe」 and 「のみ」 are the forms which are called 「ますFORM」. In the MISJ programs, 「VERBます」 and 「VERBたいです」 are explained as 「ますFORM」based expressions.
