UNIT 1-11 Japanese VERB Forms and Types

They are the first six exceptional TYPE(a) VERBS you have to memorize. Be sure to memorize them accurately using the correct accents. The accents of some of them are very important to distinguish their meanings.


V[DICTIONARY FORM]
→V[ますFORM]・ますかH →V[ますFORM]・ません

Practice the transformation of these TYPE(a) VERBS.
First, try to make the expressions for yourself. Then listen and repeat.
る(run)×3 いる(enter)×3 (need)×3
える(go/come home×3 る(cut)   ×3

Did you remember that 「る」becomes 「り」? Good!
The VERB「しる(know)」has the special combination.

Practice the transformation thoroughly until you have completely mastered it.
